We need all supporters of freedom to pack the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday, April 20th, 2023!!
Sign up starts at 4pm, meeting starts at 5pm 110 Main Street, Cumming, Georgia, 30040 Recently, a drag performance and family day was scheduled to take place after performers and organizers submitted the paperwork and filing fees to use a Forsyth County building to hold the event. After hateful backlash by some in the community, commissioners have been pressured to not allow the use of county facilities for recreational use and have mentioned trying to get commissioners to ban drag altogether in the county. Due to extremist hate speech and death threats levied against the organizer and the building with children scheduled to be there, organizers canceled the event so that local terroristic threats could not be carried out. Please come to show your support of facility rental requirements remaining as is and allowing all groups who wish to use the facility the ability to petition to do so and have that approved in a reasonable manner. Please wear blue in support of child abuse prevention when you come. Supporters of LGBTQ discrimination and hate will also be wearing blue in support of child abuse prevention. Standing against child abuse is something all good and moral people support, and we will not tolerate small-minded community members attempting to equate drag with abuse of children. We fully stand against all forms of child abuse and will work to educate the public that Drag Shows are not child abuse. If you wish to speak, please arrive at 4 pm to sign up. The meeting will begin at 5 pm. The LGBTQ community is not promoting harm to children by existing and sharing their talents with the community. Join us in standing up for the freedom to exist in public and the freedom to assemble-even if you disagree with the premise of the assembly. People are FREE to not attend events they do not find entertaining; we must take a stand together against the tyrannical nature of community clout chasers looking to target a subculture that they do not understand and thus fear. State Committee Elections will be held February 28th at 7 p.m. at 1045 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA 30040.
Forsyth County is allotted 5 seats. If you would like to run for a seat please email [email protected] or you can declare your intent at the meeting in person or on zoom.
